Go With God's Plan

Pastor Beth Mason – Medicine Hat Family Church

The thinking of the world and God’s way of thinking are at enmity. God says that His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. Prov. 14:12 tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. No wonder Paul exhorted us to renew our minds to the Word of God so that we could begin to think like God and operate in His plan.

We cannot operate in our own way and God’s plan at the same time. They are completely opposite. The book of Haggai talks about people who tried it their way. They were taking care of their own houses and letting God’s house lie in waste. To our natural thinking, it would make sense that we need to take care of our own houses and families….even to take care of them first. God, however, had other thoughts on the matter. He said through Haggai that they had sown much and brought in little, they eat but not have enough, they drink but do not have their fill, they clothe themselves but yet none is warm and he that earneth wages has earned them to put them in a bag with holes. God told them to consider their ways or priorities. He told them to first take care of the house of God and He would take pleasure in it and He would be glorified. God always gives us instructions to be a blessing to us. The people had peace and prosperity when they obeyed God. In our natural thinking, who would have thought that taking care of God’s house first would result in all their needs being met? Obviously God’s plan is different from the plan of man.

Choose to operate in God’s plan in every area of your life thus choosing a life of peace and prosperity.
